The "Highest Hill Station in the Western India", also called the "Queen of Maharashtra's Hill Stations", Mahabaleshwar is an ideal gateway. Much famous as the "Strawberry Country", Mahabaleshwar is also much famous for the production of mulberries, raspberries, and gooseberries.
This wonderful tourist destination which was earlier known as Malcolmpeth is a popular hill resort and honeymoon point and also a great pilgrimage centre. It is situated in the Western Ghats and is a part of the Sahyadri Mountain Ranges.
Mahabaleshwar is famous for its golden sunrises, misty mornings, majestic mountains, attractive valleys, verdant greenery, scenic pathways, and striking lakes. Attractions
The sacred Krishna River has its origin here. The Mahabaleshwar Temple and the Gokarna Temple of Mahabaleshwar attract visitors from all over India. The Gokarna Temple has the statue of Lord Mahabali, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, in a linga form which is considered the holiest of the 12 Jyotirlingas of India.
Panchgani is the twin hill station of Mahabaleshwar and a picturesque town surrounded with Casuarinas and Silver Oak tress. Panchgani is an ideal destination for the trekkers as it offers numerous thrilling trekking options.
Among the other attractions, Venna Lake, Pratapgarh Fort, Chinaman's Waterfall, Lingmala Waterfall, Dhobi Waterfall, Arthur's Seat Waterfall, Elphinstone Point, Bombay Point, and Kate's Point are much renowned and frequently visited.
